River Camping at Swimmers Delight
This was one of the nicest campgrounds we've ever been to. It has towering redwood trees everywhere, a view of the river from several campsites, and showers if you need them. Late June was great for warmer weather (~73ºF) and refreshing water temperature...when the sun was out we could stay in the water for hours. We saw lizards, deer, chipmunks, birds, and fish. Just be careful for poison oak.

- June 24-26 (Mon-Wed)
- Group of 8 (5 adults & 3 kids)
- 1 campsite (#26)
It was perfect for the three kids (ages 8-11) because it had plenty of calm water, wasn't deep, and there was one mellow set of rapids they could float down. We spent the most of each day at the river beach, and brought a shade shelter to relax under. If you want deep water and big rapids you should check out campgrounds along the Trinity River farther north.
